Our trip to S. CA

A new day

Well it's over with. I had the fistula placement done on Wed. Nov 3. We arrived at the hospital at 10:30 A but did not go into surgery until 3:30 P. Boy what a long wait. Once they took me into surgery it went fast. The anstelogist (can't spell yet) asked if I felt anything, I said no and the next thing I remember is the nurse telling me surgery was over and to open my eyes. I ended up with a 5 inch bandage on my left arm and feeling fine. My BP was slow to come back up so I didn't leave until 10:30 P. A long 12 hours but I hope worth it. Today is day 3 and I am still doing good. Looking forward to seeing my brother and family tomorrow. Drs. follow up appt in 2 weeks then hopefully we travel to warmer location.

Saturday and nowhere to go

I love it! Rain all day, kind of peaceful. Cold outside but warm in here. It has been a busy week. I saw a surgeon on Tues. and he set me up for fistula placement next Wed. Finally something is being done. spent 2 hour with presurgery testing, all is well. I saw Dr. Kumar early Fri morning everything OK on his end. I still feel good so that is good. Headed to Seven Feathers Casino afterwards and had an enjoyable day at the slots.
Made a cake today to take to Kevin's tomorrow. Should be another good day with family, kind of miss my kids and grand ones too.

Rain, rain, go away

Boy is it gloomy in Oregon when it rains. Just ask us, it has been raining for the last 5 days. O well, appointment with Vascular Dr. tomorrow, hopefully good news. Rice Hill is a nice campground but I don't want to live here.
Denett will be starting home from FL in the next few days. I know they had a blast. I look forward to seeing pics.
Destin had his dancing debut last Sat. I heard it was a thrill. (heeHee)
Denae is busy being mom. And working too! I remember those days. (heehee)

food + friends = good time

We met with the Jacobs yesterday and enjoyed visiting with food and good times. It is so nice having friends all over. As they head south we continue to visit doctor and wait! My next appointment is next Thursday with the surgeon. Lets get this show on the road. I am feeling better, still some pain in my feet but not as bad. They did some blood work yesterday but did not call me so no news is good news.
The sun is out but it is cold to me. I can't wait to head south. We will spend Sunday with Kevin and his family. We really enjoy visiting with them. I am looking forward to another "lesson" with Kevin and this new MacBook. I am loving the Apple and all its tricks.

Staying still for awhile

We are at Rice Hill RV Park until the 23rd. Then it will depend on what the surgeon says on the 21st. It is nice here with slight noise from I5 right out the window.  Last Tues I took the bus from Sutherlan to the Seven Feathers Casino for the day. i had lots of fun and won about $46.
Last Sunday we visited with Kevin and got our mail. Kind of boring. Just waiting to go south soon.

back home - Oregon that is

Yes, Dennis & I arrived back at Rice Hill, Oregon last night, after a quick trip to Seattle. Karen and Bobby arrived on Monday. We had driven up on Sunday and picked up Kevin in Olympia, WA. Then the three of us drove to Seattle. It was a great visit with Karen and Bobby. Bobby's appointment went well. We had a wonderful dinner at Outback Steak and talked a lot. A promise was given to keep in touch.

Stopped for awhile

We have been very busy, but have done very little. For the next month we will be at Rice Hill RV Park. It is about 40 miles south of Eugene. We've been visiting with kevin and his family on the weekends. Lots of fun. Last week with Destins help we were able to Skype with Grandma, she got to see Kevin's kids and talk with all of us.

This next  weekend we are driving the jeep to Seattle. Bobby is coming down to the Univ. of WA for pre test for a liver transplant. Karen is coming with him. Kevin and his family will be at a wedding in Olympia so we will pick him up and take him with us. Us kids will be together for the first time in 9 years. We will get pictures.

My health is fine. I am waiting to hear from the vascular surgeon about a date for the fistula placement.

I goofed

Hopefully if you are reading this you got the right spot.  Thank you Deric for your help.  Today is Monday we will be leaving TT South Jetty on Thursday. We will be going back to the county park in Eugene for a week. We hope to visit with Kevin and his family several days. I will know more after my drs appt. tomorrow. "Take care"

Catching on!

Today is Friday. We are at TT South Jetty until next Thursday, very boring. The weather is horrible, well today the sun is shining but it is only about 60 degrees. I don't like the cold. The pool looks nice but I haven't been in it.
The preserve is very hilly and I have a hard time riding my lark, so I have been staying in most of the time. Last Friday Dennis and I went to see Peggy and got our eyes checked. My vision has changed and that is why I am having a hard time reading. New glasses. Dennis's vision has improved and that is why he is over compensating by wearing his current glasses tilted. New Glasses. I called today and they won't be in until next week. Bah humbug!!
I have been to the Three River Casino twice, once to play the slots and once to play Bingo. Did OKAY!

Eugene to Florence

South Jetty

We have been at TT South Jetty since Thursday. The drive was beautiful and whindy (if that is a word?), we are about one and one half hours from Eugene and two hours from Roseburg.


My drs appt on the 28th went fair, a two hour wait in the waiting room and a ten minute visit with Dr. Kumar. Basically my blood pressure was up (whose wouldn’t be with that wait), I need to lose weight, and he ordered a slew of tests. “See me in two weeks”!! I now wait till Sept. 14 to find out about the rest of my life. I guess.

Dennis is enjoying playing cards while I am reading and relaxing. WIFI is slow but I try to go on every other day. Send me line anytime.
